Delaware Oral Health Coalition

Background and Overview

The Delaware Oral Health Coalition (DOHC) evolved from the work of the Dental, Medical, Educational and Childcare Communities in Delaware who came together at the December 2004 Oral Health Summit and the June 2005 Head Start Oral Health Forum to develop a common set of strategies to improve the State’s oral health.

Today’s oral health problems are complex and require cooperative action by many organizations. Many communities offer limited opportunities to get information on the benefits of good oral health. Many do not have enough dental health professionals to meet community needs. Developing creative solutions to these problems often requires involvement by all levels of our communities, and an understanding of each community’s diverse cultural and social make-up.

The Delaware Oral Health Coalition is open to all interested individuals and organizations who wish to participate in planning, developing and implementing strategies to further the mission of the Coalition.

Mission Statement
